Hi, I'm George
Role: project manager. Parent. Expat currently based in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Relocating to United Kingdom wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they ought to.
The Adjustment Period
The adjustment phase involved culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Over time, routines settled in. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built SacredFriendDawn
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a meaningful change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United Kingdom goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
George
